E-mail: elehrer@uic.edu Evelyn L. Lehrer is Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she has been on the faculty since 1980. She has done research on union formation and dissolution, women's labor supply, fertility, child-care arrangements, family income distribution, and welfare reform. She has also written extensively about religion and the family, exploring the role of religion as a determinant of several dimensions of economic and demographic behavior.
