Call for Submissions: Refereed Flash Session
The CCF 2020 Program Committee is organizing a Flash Session as part of the 2020 Biennial Conference. The Flash Session will be held in the main meeting room and will use a mini‐session format: Four presenters will speak for five minutes each, followed by a moderated Q&A. The speakers have the use of PowerPoint, but are allowed to use no more than five slides. Flash session paper titles with authors’ names and affiliations will be listed in the program. We are especially interested in highlighting the research of graduate students and junior scholars but submissions are open to all.
Those interested in presenting as part of a Flash Session must submit a 200-word abstract via email to Michael Garcia at firstname.lastname@example.org by December 2, 2019. Participants will be notified no later than December 13th. Conference details including hotel information can be found at: https://contemporaryfamilies.org/2020‐ccf-conference/
Pamela Smock Travel Award
Council on Contemporary Families member Pamela Smock has donated a biennial award for travel to a CCF conference for an early career scholar presenting work during the Flash Session that is broadly related to the conference theme. This Pamela Smock Travel Award is open to graduate students, and scholars up to five years after the terminal degree. The criterion for the award includes both the quality of the work presented, broadly defined fit with the conference theme, and a documented interest to bringing research expertise beyond the academy by becoming an active member of CCF. The Award will cover travel expenses and hotel expenses up to $750. The Award recipient will also be invited to collaborate with CCF on a 750-word brief report about their research to be posted on the CCF Blog, Families as They Really Are (https://thesocietypages.org/ccf/).
To apply for the Pamela Smock Travel Award, send a copy of your CV and a 250-word statement about your interest in becoming active in the Council on Contemporary Families to email@example.com by December 2, 2019.
