Andrea Lambert South
Associate Professor in Communication Studies, Northern Kentucky University
Dr. Lambert South is an Associate Professor in Communication Studies. She received her Ph.D. in family communication from the University of Denver, her M.A. in interpersonal communication from Texas Tech University, and her B.G.S. in communication and psychology from the University of Kansas. Her areas of expertise include divorce, multiple-divorce families, stepfamilies, co-parenting, and children’s perception of divorce. She also has general expertise in communication strategies, interpersonal communication, and intercultural issues.
Professor Lambert South serves as a divorce mediator for the Northern Kentucky Alternative Dispute Resolution Center, and is an active force in the communication discipline and has served as the Chair for the Interpersonal and Small Group Division for the Central States Communication Association and Chair for the Family Communication Division for the National Communication Association. She has also served as the New Professional Representative for the International Association of Relationship Research, and is active with journal review boards.
Dr. Lambert’s research program examining divorce and blended family communication has yielded 30 competitively selected papers at international, national, and regional conferences (including top paper designations) and has led to publications in journals such as the Journal of Divorce and Remarriage and Communication Research Reports.
