Demie Kurz is a sociologist and Co-Director of Alice Paul Center for the Study of Women and Gender at the University of Pennsylvania. Her primary research and teaching interests are contemporary issues of gender and the family, parenting, and motherhood. She is currently writing a book on parents and teenagers titled Letting Go: Parenting Adolescents in an Age of Uncertainty. She has published scholarly work on divorce (including a book titled For Richer, For Poorer: Mothers Confront Divorce), domestic violence, and parenting.
