Eric Klinenberg is Professor of Sociology at New York University. His books include Going Solo: The Extraordinary Rise and Surprising Appeal of Living Alone (The Penguin Press, 2012) and Heat Wave: A Social Autopsy of Disaster in Chicago (University of Chicago Press, 2002). In addition to his scholarship, Klinenberg has contributed to the New York Times Magazine, Time, Fortune, Rolling Stone, the Wall Street Journal, the Guardian, Slate, and the radio program This American Life. He’s also a frequent commentator on national television and radio.
